Below are detailed, step-by-step instructions for granting someone user access to your Google Search Console property. Search Console uses roles rather than a “manager” title, but the Full User role allows significant access, similar to a manager.
Search Console Prerequisites:
- You must be a verified Owner of the Google Search Console property.
- Ensure you have a Google account email address for the person you want to add.

Steps to Add a New User in Google Search Console
1. Sign In to Google Search Console:
Go to https://search.google.com/search-console/ and sign in with the Google account that is verified as an Owner of the property.

2. Select the Correct Property:
In the property selector (top-left corner), choose the website (property) you want to grant access to.

If you don’t see it, ensure you are logged in with the correct account or that you have verified ownership for that property.

3. Open the Settings Page:
From the left-hand menu, scroll down and click on “Settings.”

4. Go to Users & Permissions:
In the Settings page, find and click on “Users and permissions.”

5. Add a New User:
Click on the “Add user” button in the top-right corner of the Users and permissions page.

6. Enter the User’s Email Address:
In the pop-up dialog, type the email address of the person you want to add.
This must be a Google account email address.

7. Assign the Appropriate Permission Level:
- Full User: Has view and most configuration access (including viewing performance, submitting sitemaps, and handling certain issues). They cannot add new users or change permissions. This role most closely resembles a “manager” level of authority without granting full ownership.
- Restricted User: Can only view data and perform very limited actions.

Choose “Full” if you want the person to be able to manage many aspects of the property.
8. Click “Add”:
Once the email and the role are set, click “Add.”

9. Confirm the New User’s Access:
The new user will now appear in the user list with the role you assigned. They will have immediate access upon signing in to Google Search Console with their Google account.
That’s It! The new user can now sign in to Google Search Console and manage the aspects of the property allowed by their assigned role.
