Let’s not sugarcoat it: B2B content performance in 2025 will be judged by bottom line return.
Everyone’s posting. Some good, and lots of bad.
And guess what? If you haven’t updated your content strategy from pre-2023 vibes, you’re losing.
Lucky for you, I’ve been doing this for over 10 years.
For SaaS…

For SMB…

The proof of results is in the pudding.

Through trial and error, I’ve developed a formula for building a robust content strategy that generates traffic, leads, and conversions on demand.
I’ve rounded up the 35 ways to dramatically improve your content this year, sprinkled with insights from my experience and other B2B legends.
Let’s get into it.
B2B Content Performance Marketing Has Evolved
AI has already started rewriting the rulebook.
It can search the internet – uh oh!
What used to be manual labor is now completely automated.
The problem is that most people are still focused on the product and process – types of content and workflow tools.
This is no longer relevant since AI can reproduce just about anything with a click and subscription.
The internet is explored from all over the world now, so targeting is more important.
In other words, you need to focus more on WHO you’re talking to, not just WHAT to talk about.
80% of the challenge is how you define your audience through persona or ICP (ideal customer profile) research.
Once you have this down, building a content marketing calendar that converts (the WHAT and HOW) is EASY.
Let’s dive into how AI is shaking things up and some proven tactics to evolve your content game for the future.
1. Embrace AI for Content Generation (But Don’t Rely Solely on It)
I vouch for AI tools for generating first drafts, headlines, and even keyword suggestions.
But not the writing.
It’s often too verbose, lacks emotional intelligence, and let’s not get started on accuracy.
That’s because you need to understand how these AI models are developed and how to get the most from your prompt engineering strategy.

Too many marketers (and non-marketers) skip this step! DON’T.
Take a course, build the skill, and stop creating junk marketing.
But even when you master the basics, you’ll still run into SEO and user-engagement challenges because, well, soulless regurgitation doesn’t work anymore.
The trick? You still need a human touch for the final polish.
AI’s good, but it’s not that good.
2. Start DEEP-NICHE with Your Audience, then Expand.
General content is dead. We’re in the age of personalization.
Everyone’s feed is officially unique. Who you follow or see can be very different than your colleagues.

Meta, Google, Youtube, Linkedin now only serve traffic to UGC (user-generated content) that improves overall platform engagement.
In other words, if you’re not getting likes, comments, shares,(or ending the search when it comes to Google), you won’t grow beyond your existing audience (aka your mom).
With AI-driven audience research and hyper-specific niching, you can create tailored pieces that hit exactly what your audience is Googling at 2 a.m.
No more “one-size-fits-all” content.
3. Optimize for Voice Search
This one’s controversial, but it’s worth talking about.
Speech patterns matter.
Have you ever noticed how we speak is very different from what Grammarly suggests.
Weird right?
This is because the communication pattern changes by media type (message delivery method).
- We write in a way that assumes our readers need context.
- We speak in a way that assumes our listeners are in tune with NLP or verbal queues.
B2B and speech expert Ann Handley emphasizes communication optimization.
People talk to Alexa differently than they type in Google.
AI tools can help predict the natural language queries for which your content could rank, if optimized properly.
4. Use AI to Automate Content Audits
Audits used to be a grind.

Now, AI tools can analyze and spit out underperforming pages in seconds.
These tools are now designed with Google and Bing Search standards in mind, giving SEOs like me a much-needed break.
Thanks to automation, you can now switch to running content audits quarterly instead of annually, increasing your chances of satisfying Lord Algorithm’s next update.
5. Double Down on Topic Clusters
People often say SEO is dead.
But what they mean is the SEO keyword game is dead.

Global search volume is, in fact, increasing year over year.
So why clusters?
Over the last two years, largely thanks to Ai, Google (king of Search) has promoted high domain authority websites over high-quality single URLs.
Meaning they want the thematic library, not just one good post.
You need to cover an entire category before Google considers you an authority.

The best way to do this in 2024 is to design a robust content calendar around your ICP that answers most of the questions they might have about a particular topic.
Creating 10 separate blogs about the same thing is yesterday’s move.
Build content clusters—pillar pages supported by tightly-related articles. AI can help map out these clusters based on trending queries.
You’ll get rewarded with all related traffic – we 17x’d traffic for a local realtor with this strategy in under 60 days.
6. Real-Time Personalization
Talk about being “in the moment”.
The premise of the strategy is this: as they click, you react.
Gone are the days when B2B user journeys were linear.

Behavioral targeting is at the core of these personalized interactions, and users expect it.
You need to demonstrate that you understand their unique interests and remain relevant throughout your communication process.
AI now allows for hyper-personalization in real-time, and not just through chat-bots.
As visitors engage with your site or email nurture, tailor the content they see based on their behavior.
It’s like Netflix but for B2B buyers. Think: “You might also like…”
7. Leverage Predictive Analytics for Content

This will require a detailed tech stack, but it is powerful once mastered.
When implemented correctly, AI can now predict what your audience will want to read next using behavioral data.
Serve them the content they didn’t know they needed, like the genie you are.
8. Optimize Meta Descriptions and Titles with AI Tools
Technical SEO is way more advanced now.

Go back and optimize as many blogs, articles, images, video, etc. using Ai to decode the best keywords for each of piece in your content library.
Title and meta description optimizers like Copy.ai or Jasper can give you A/B tested options to maximize click-through rates.
9. Use Data-Driven Headlines
80% of a B2B content marketer’s job today is to STOP THE SCROLL.
You do this with headlines and hooks.
For text-based media, the focus will be on headlines.
Headline Analyzer tools, powered by AI, take the guesswork out of creating attention-grabbing titles.
My go-to advice? “Let the machine crunch the data; you handle the creativity.”

10. Build Authority with Unique Research
Content marketing rockstar Joe Pulizzi loves to drop data-backed insights into content.
AI tools like Crayon or BuzzSumo give you a treasure trove of current stats, trends, and studies but with AI at the helm of your analytics team, you can come up with some unique insights.
For example, we recently studied the content marketing trends from over 50 highly-relevant and reputable sources to develop a unique view of the 7 most disruptive B2B content marketing and SEO trends to follow before 2025.
A year ago, this may have taken a month.
With AI, we knocked it out in a day.
11. Create Interactive Content Using AI
Static content is so 2023.
Don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit.
Your readers crave the change-up, like the Yankees in Game 5 of the World Seri… nevermind, Too soon.

Use AI to design quizzes, calculators, and assessments.
These tools engage and some times teach your audience better than the traditional approach.
12. Repurpose Content Efficiently with AI
Don’t set it and forget it. You put time into the 2500 word blog that no one read.
Get it back out there in a different format.
Remember, our attention spans are shrinking – fast. We’re on pace to rival goldfish before 2030.

AI tools can auto-slice your long-form content into bite-sized social posts, tweets, and infographics.
Let the machine save you time while keeping the message intact.
Use this simple guide for transforming old content formats into new content formats if you want to get started ASAP.
13. Predict Virality
Ok, this one is cliche, but hear me out.
Through marketing and other studies, consumer behavior has been analyzed from every angle.
While we have yet to master every psychology, there are quite a few TikTok’ers, Youtubers, and Creators boasting mastery of the “viral formula.”
When you master the formats that get people’s attention at scale, you can develop a sizeable audience relatively quickly on some platforms.
AI tools like TrendHub can analyze patterns and predict what will blow up next month. James Mentor’s tip: Get ahead of the curve by jumping on trends before they’re trending.
Take advantage of these trends early because goldfish-brain is real.
14. Use AI to Create Dynamic Content
Imagine content that adapts to you—your location, actions, even your unique profile.
With AI, your content doesn’t just show up; it feels like it was made just for you right when you need it.
Think of it as having a best friend in your feed—one who just gets you.
Dynamic content adapts to the user’s preferences.
Use dynamic content options on advertising platforms like Google and Meta to rapidly A/B test and optimize campaign copy.
These tools make sure your content always feels personalized.
15. Optimize for Google’s E-E-A-T Guidelines
Gone are the days of piling on keywords, hoping to game the system.
Now, it’s about showing up as a true expert, a trusted voice.
Think of it like this: When a friend recommends a restaurant, you trust their experience, not just because they know food, but because they’ve been there.
They’ve tasted the menu, met the chef, and attended her grandchild’s quinceanera: This person is now qualified to share what’s worth ordering.
Google’s latest algorithm update works similarly, seeking content that’s built on real expertise and that provides readers with something truly valuable.
So next time you create, think beyond the surface.
Dive deep. Deliver insights that only someone with your level of experience could offer.
Quality. Depth. Authenticity. That’s what builds trust in 2024 and beyond.
16. Strengthen Your Internal Linking Strategy
Picture this: You’re building a map, but instead of landmarks, it’s filled with paths connecting every bit of valuable content you’ve created.
Now, imagine an AI assistant swooping in, spotting connections you missed, linking articles, blogs, and resources in ways you hadn’t considered.
That’s the magic of AI-driven internal linking.
It finds the connections that make sense, creating a seamless journey for your audience and guiding them from one valuable piece of content to the next.
And here’s the bonus: Stronger links mean better SEO.
When AI does the heavy lifting, your site’s structure becomes smarter and more navigable, boosting rankings and making each piece of content work harder.
We love the WordPress plugin RankMath for this exercise.

So let AI be your cartographer. It’s more than just links—it’s a path to discovery and growth, all while enhancing your SEO.
17. Refresh Old Content with AI Insights
You’re scrolling through your website’s content library and spotting posts that once shined but now feel a little… outdated.
Maybe the stats are old, or a few links have drifted into 404 territory.
You know the content has value, but it’s in need of a refresh.
Here’s where AI becomes your go-to.
Think of it as a content inspector, combing through your posts to pinpoint outdated stats, broken links, or sections that could use a facelift.
While out-of-the-box AI (GPT o1-mini, Claude, Gemini, etc) may not be the best resource for up-to-date accuracy, paid versions can now browse the internet and links in real-time.

Use this revolutionary new feature to identify exactly where updates are needed, saving you time and ensuring accuracy.
And the payoff?
That once-dusty post is now polished, relevant, and ready to engage again.
A quick refresh doesn’t just boost your content’s visibility—it reclaims its value, making every piece shine like new.
Beware, however, don’t just prompt and publish; you should still clean up after your dog.
18. Automate SEO Optimization
This is tricky. There are some fraudulent auto-SEO tools out there that won’t get you the result you’re looking for, and unfortunately, they’re powered by very affective influencer marketing.
Rely on common sense. If everyone can just use a one click SEO automation tool that immediately gets you to rank on page one of Google, then how does Google decide who to rank first?
For each new “easy” tool, comes more competition.
Tools like SurferSEO, RankMath, and Machine.ai analyze keyword density, readability, and structure in real time. However, you will still need to compete in areas where AI is weak, like personalized storytelling.
Let AI handle the nitty-gritty while you focus on killer storytelling.
19. Create “Zero-Click” Content

This strategy is about meeting their need instantly, right there on the search page.
As snippets and AI summaries take center stage, focus on delivering value in a compact, information-rich way.
Use AI or Google to identify popular questions that your ideal audience would ask.

The result? Content people love.

20. Improve User Experience with AI Chatbots
AI-powered chatbots like Drift can significantly enhance user engagement and retention on your site.
Recent stats show that 58% of B2B companies already leverage chatbots for customer engagement and lead generation, as they’re effective in creating instant, helpful interactions that keep users on the page longer – SEO gold!
With the ability to provide immediate answers and guide visitors to relevant content, chatbots are a superpower.
And the results speak volumes: companies using chatbots report a 30% savings in customer support costs while increasing lead qualification rates.
21. Nail Video Content Marketing with AI
Use tools like Pictory and Descript to turn a single blog post into engaging video content—in just a few clicks.
In 2024, a strong article isn’t just well-written; it’s ready to live in multiple formats.
Repurposing content like this keeps it relevant, amplifies reach, and meets your audience where they are, whether they’re reading, watching, or listening.
Think concierge service for content.
Let AI make the transformation seamless so your content works across every platform.
22. Write for the Skimmers
People skim, they don’t read.

With user heatmap tools like Crazy Egg, you can see exactly how far they scroll—and where they drop off.
Use these insights to build a scroll-stopping library.
Adjust headlines, move key points up, and make sure the value is clear within those first few swipes.
Keep tabs on what’s working with performance analytics so every part of your content keeps readers engaged.
23. Leverage AI for A/B Testing
If you’re not A/B testing, where have you been?
A majority of people marketing stakeholders think that marketing is this guy…

…the moxie plus on-the-spot intuition that moves a generation with a single clever line.
Wrong.
The best test their way to virality.
Optimize every element of your content—titles, hooks, CTAs, and everything in between—by using AI to run quick A/B tests.
Once you have the winning formula, go all in.
24. Use AI to Spot Gaps in Your Content Performance Strategy
Most long-form content is never finished forever.
You will need to go back, adjust, and optimize as the market changes.
AI tools can speed this process up by identifying content gaps—areas where you’re missing key information your audience may be interested in.

Filling these gaps boosts traffic and authority.
25. Maximize Content Reach with Multilingual AI Translation
Search is global. Even Putin’s angry with his search results.

Don’t limit your content to just one language.
Use AI to translate your posts, ensuring you’re reaching audiences across the globe.
26. Prioritize Long-Form Content (But Break It Up)
The experts agree: longer content ranks better.
But no one wants to read a wall of text.

Space it out and use AI to break text walls into digestible sub-sections and add summary boxes.
Remember the skimmers.
27. Track Keyword Performance in Real-Time
I track content performance in real time using Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.

The second performance dips, it’s time for a tweak.
28. Prioritize Page Speed (AI to the Rescue)
Content is king. But if your competitors have the same access to the tools you use to pump content at volume, how does Google prioritize ranking?
The technicals.

Backlinks, page load speed, content full planes, canonicals and the list goes on.
Work with an SEO agency to optimize images, scripts, and backend elements that slow you down.
29. Create Conversational Content
AI will only get you so far and humans can already spot AI content from a mile away.
So much for that hack.
However the smart ones know that optimized AI writing prompts can help you write in a way that feels natural and approachable.
We borrowed this text optimizer from Matt Diggity’s team and it works pretty well. Add additional optimizations to tone, style, and delivery to make it your own.

GPT-based tools can assist in producing dialogue-driven content, ideal for keeping your readers hooked.
But best practice for now is to edit all of your AI generated content before publishing.
Do your readers, Google, and humanity a favor and unjunk marketing PLEASE!
30. Nail Schema Markup & Structured Data
Any CMS SEO plugin tool can help you organize schema markup within your existing content, making sure search engines understand your content better and display rich snippets.

As competition increases in 2025, the most organized content will win in search.
31. Improve Accessibility with AI
AI can be a powerful ally in web accessibility.
Tools like AudioEye and AccessiBe use AI to identify and address accessibility issues, such as low contrast, missing alt text, or inaccessible forms, making sites more inclusive.
These solutions can reduce the time needed for complex accessibility fixes by up to 10 times, a huge advantage given that 96% of the top million websites still have accessibility issues in 2024.
32. Use AI for Social Media Timing

Every social media platform offers this solution out of the box in 2024.
Why?
Their number one goal is ENGAGEMENT.
It’s in their shared interest to make you a successful content publisher on their platform.
No more guessing—they analyze patterns and predicts the optimal posting time, ensuring your content reaches your favorite people, exactly when they’re ready to engage.
33. Turn Data Into Stories
Can’t wait to show off those fancy Excel skills?
Save it. Let AI crunch it, you focus on delivery.
- Who are the heroes and stakeholders
- What’s problem does this chart help us solve?
- Why did this happen?
- What’s the history here?
- What do I need to know to evaluate these performance metrics SUBJECTIVELY?
It’s the story behind the numbers that matters.
AI makes the number crunching easier, but turning dry data into compelling narratives that resonate is a human’s job.

Master transforming raw stats into stories that engage your audience and drive real impact.
34. Focus on Intent-Based SEO
Instead of focusing on just keywords, figure out the intent behind searches.
The challenge is that Search, is for beginners.

This audience doesn’t know where to begin and needs a reputable GUIDE.
Search engines like Google no longer reward small sites or single pages with top-rank traffic: they want extensive, authoritative sites with deep subject-matter expertise.
Align your content with what people are looking for (intent), not just the words they type.
Then build a library.
Minimize the keyword stuffing and maintain discipline in your content hierarchy.
Final Thought:
AI isn’t going to replace content creators—it’s here to give us superpowers.
And if you don’t learn to leverage it? Well, your competition definitely will.
So grab your cape, try these 35 strategies, and take your content performance to new heights in 2024.
